II Conference of recognition to the institutional and business chairs of the University of Zaragoza
Last Monday, November 26, took place in the auditorium of the University (Plaza de Paraíso, 4) the ceremony of recognition to the entities that collaborate with the university chairs, among which is IQE, and which was attended by the highest authorities of companies and institutions and all those who are carrying out the activity of the chairs. The University of Zaragoza has 68 chairs and is the second Spanish public university in terms of this type of agreement. These chairs allow for various R&D&I activities, teaching, conferences and seminars, student internships, scholarships, awards… The “Cátedra IQE” is based in the Faculty of Science and its activity is focused on the promotion of research; the dissemination, popularization and social projection of Science; the promotion of the application of technologies to the welfare of society, and other activities considered of mutual interest. The event was attended by the rector, José Antonio Mayoral, the president of the Government of Aragon, Javier Lambán; the secretary general of Universities, José Manuel Pingarrón; the president of the Social Council, Manuel Serrano; the president of the Aragonese Council of Chambers of Commerce, Manuel Teruel; the president of CEOE Zaragoza, Ricardo Mur; and the vice-rector of Technology Transfer and Innovation, Pilar Zaragoza. During the ceremony, Professor Enrique Dans gave a lecture on “Education, business and the keys to the future”.
IQE participated in the Euro Tier 2018 fair
We would like to thank all our customers and friends who came to the stand we shared with Sodivas at EuroTier fair at Hannover. Some of us had to go and look for them, but it was a very interesting and productive fair. Not only it has been a record in the aspect of animal feeding, also for us it has represented a new milestone in terms of meetings, occupation of the agenda and interest of the discussions. We are already preparing the next one in 2020.
IQE sponsor of the I Centenary of Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park
Within the framework of Social Responsibility activities being developed by IQE is the sponsorship of the first Centenary of the National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido. It was on August 16, 1918 when the Royal Decree signed by King Alfonso XIII was published, declaring National Park to Ordesa Valley and one hundred years later, coinciding with the same date, the Government of Aragón, with the sponsorship of a group of Aragonese companies, has developed an extensive program of commemorative events. During the inauguration of these commemorative events, Minister of Rural Development and Sustainability, Joaquín Olona, commited to reconcile the economic development of the area, public use and conservation, in order to improve the living conditions of its inhabitants. The acts culminated with a tribute to the French Lucien Briet, laying a bunch of flowers at the statue raised in his honor. Briet, together with the Marquis of Villaviciosa, Pedro Pidal, were two of the forerunners of “pirineísmo”.
Inaugurated the new plant of precipitated silica
Coinciding with its 60th anniversary, Industrias Químicas del Ebro has opened a new precipitated silica manufacturing plant in its industrial complex of Malpica. This corporate event was attended by the President of Aragón, Javier Lambán and the Mayor of Zaragoza, Pedro Santisteve among others. With this new infrastructure IQE increases its product portfolio and is positioned in the tyre industry. The characteristics of this material, which reduces wear, improves rolling resistance and get a better grip on wet, make it a key product in this strategic market. The investment made in this new plant will allow working with large companies in the sector and has led to the creation of thirty new jobs. The plant, which works 24 hours a day, is located on a recently urbanized plot of 30,000 square meters and includes a production hall of 6,000 square meters and a warehouse of 4,000. The volume of production is estimated at 20,000 MT per year.
IQE has participated in the last edition of the fair DKT
Industrias Químicas del Ebro has been present at the latest edition of DKT, the rubber trade fair that took place in Nüremberg between the 2nd and 5th of July. In this year’s edition we have shared a stand with our agents in Germany, NGS Elastomer. The exhibition has been a complete success for exhibitors and public, including a significant Spanish presence in both sections. From here we want to thank all those people who came to our stand and have shown their interest in the news of our company related to this important industry.
Reforestation day promoted by IQE
Industrias Químicas del Ebro, along with its environmental commitment, organized last May 13 a reforestation day in the borough of La Paul in Gurrea de Gállego. This event, which was held together with the association Árboles para Siempre, had the participation of more than 180 people who met in the area of La Paul with the aim of regenerating an extensive natural space, more than 30,000 square meters, which currently has around 500 centenary oaks. It is expected that this social project will have a positive impact not only for the environment, but also for the residents of the region, who in the future will have a large space for leisure and recreation.
Implementation of a high efficiency atomization system
Industrias Químicas del Ebro, S.A. has received a grant for its energy saving and efficiency project entitled “IMPLEMENTATION OF A HIGH EFFICIENCY ATOMIZATION SYSTEM” through the INSTITUTO DE DIVERSIFICACIÓN Y AHORRO DE LA ENERGÍA (IDAE). These funds are co-financed by the European Union through the Operational Programme for Sustainable Growth 2014-2020 of the European Regional Developmente Fund (ERDF). With this project, through advanced technology and in collaboration with the best equipment manufacturers in the sector, the implementation of a high-efficiency energy atomized product line has been achieved, which will bring us great energy and environmental savings, as well as an important reduction of the waste generated in the productive processes.
IQE will participate in Plast 2018
IQE will participate as an exhibitor at the next Plast 2018 fair that will take place in Milan between May 29 and June 1. This fair, which is held every three years, is one of the most important exhibitions for plastics and rubber industry worldwide. In this edition IQE will have its own space in Hall 9 stand D-102 that we will share with our agents in Italy, Lehvoss Italy. IQE attends the Middle East Coatings Show 2018
The Middle East Coatings Show is the only annual meeting place in the Middle East region for raw materials suppliers and equipment manufacturers for the coatings industry. IQE has participated with its own stand in this last edition that took place in Dubai between 19-21 of March. We want to thank all the professionals who have visited us during the exhibition for the interest shown in our products.
