The IQE Chair is based at the Sciences School of the University of Zaragoza and its activity focuses on promoting research, dissemination and social projection of Science; promoting the application of technologies to the welfare of society, and whatever other activities are considered of mutual interest.
Recently, the IQE Chair has presented the 2019 Activity Report, among which different dissemination activities are detailed:
- The edition of numbers 23 and 24 of the magazine conCIENCIAS.digital published by the Sciences School. A magazine that has a 13-year history and has been awarded the Special Jury Prize of the prestigious “Ciencia en acción” Program, in the 2015 edition.
- Crystallization contest in the school in which 50 educational centers from all over Aragon have participated, thus involving more than 1.400 secondary school students. The IQE Chair was one of the funding entities that allowed the development of this contest.
- Cycle of scientific dissemination conferences “Encuentros con la ciencia” in the Cultural Field of “El Corte Inglés”. The IQE Chair collaborated in the organization of this cycle of conferences together with the following organizations: General Military Academy, Royal Spanish Physics Society in Aragon, Professional College of Physicists of Aragon, Official College of Chemists of Aragon and Navarra and MUY Interesante magazine. V edition of the “Sciences School Short Stories Contest.” The IQE chair financed the prizes awarded.
- XXII “San Alberto Magno” Photography Contest. The theme of the contest was about images related to scientific activity as well as the artistic vision of science. The IQE chair financed the awards given.
- Investigation. Two scholarships were offered in the 2018-2019 academic year and another two in the 2019-20 academic year.
